COLAS takes up residency at Aspire Industrial Park

One of Australia’s leading providers of sustainable pavement construction, COLAS, has secured three lots, a total combined 17,366sqm at Alder Development’s Aspire Industrial Park in Yatala.

There are now just three last lots remaining at the rare 11-hectare industrial estate representing one of the last opportunities for buyers to secure land zoned for high impact manufacturing, business, and operations in southern South East Queensland.

COLAS group manager for strategy and development Kevin McCullough said the multi-national com-pany selected the site located within the Yatala Enterprise Area (YEA) because of its rare zoning and prime location.

“Our operations require high impact zoned land and there are few remaining areas on the Gold Coast or Logan City zoned for such use,” said Mr McCullough.

“The location of the site was appealing as it services the rapid growth corridor and is conveniently positioned between Brisbane and the Gold Coast with proximity to our raw suppliers.”

The acquisition of the site at the industrial estate will see COLAS expand its operations in South East Queensland. The sizable area will accommodate an Asphalt plant, material testing laboratory, workshop, amenities and operations offices.

Mr McCollough said since purchasing the land, COLAS had engaged Alder Development’s construc-tion partner Alder Constructions to develop the site further.

“Alder has a strong track record with similar work, and they were keen to continue to work with CO-LAS,” said Mr McCollough.

“We decided to go with them because they know the job and provided a very competitive pro-posal.”

Alder Constructions successfully delivered the industrial subdivision in September 2019, and Alder Constructions general manager Dean Cheffers said construction work at the COLAS site is currently underway.

“Aspire Industrial Park is a hive of activity with construction currently taking place at the COLAS site including the full design and construction of the Asphalt facility along with the civil and structural design with key design partner, Westera Partners,” said Mr Cheffers.

“We are also completing the bulk earthworks at the site, concrete foundations, piling works, retaining walls, pavements, weighbridges, laboratories and workshops and we expect COLAS will have a fully operational site early next year.”

It has been business as usual for Alder Construction with the multidisciplinary construction company currently delivering several significant projects throughout South East Queensland including new Arcadia College campus, Energex Greenslopes Depot, Gold Coast Sand Bypass Jetty and Moreton Bay Cycleway extension.

Comprising of 15 subdivided lots ranging in size from 4,010sqm to 8,985sqm, Aspire has been de-signed with flat lots that are flood-free and able to accommodate various types or size of industrial business. Alder Developments has worked in conjunction with its construction partner Alder Con-structions for more than 12-months to deliver the project successfully.

The final lots range in size from 4,119sqm to 8,985sqm are selling from $265/sqm and are ready to build on now. A full turnkey option is available for interested buyers.
